Golden Gloves runner-up and unbeaten professional Jamal James (17-0, 9 KOs) will take on Dominican heavy hitter Juan Carlos Abreu (18-1-1, 17 KOs) in a battle of 147-pounders in the main event on tonight’s Bounce TV card from Full Sail Live in Winter Park, Florida.

Babyfaced up-and-comer Erickson Lubin (11-0, 8 KOs), only 19 years old, will look to keep his perfect record intact against veteran Orlando Lora (31-5-2, 19 KOs) in the co-main. Wilky Campfort (20-1, 11 KOs) faces Ronald Montes (16-2, 14 KOs) in the opening bout.
Caleb Truax, originally scheduled to take on Fernando Guerrero in the main event, was forced to withdraw because of a bureaucratic entanglement with the Illinois State Athletic Commission over his medical records following his TKO loss to Daniel Jacobs in April.
Under Illinois rules, a fighter has to take a mandatory minimum 30-day suspension from fight activity following a knockout. The practice is common among athletic commissions, and the Florida authorities reciprocate the rulings in Illinois.
“The Illinois Commission is not lifting my suspension from the last fight with Jacobs because they said I need additional medical testing, an additional MRI,” Truax said. “They just told me about it [Tuesday] night, and I submitted all my stuff July 17. They said I needed a neurological exam and I passed that. They said that wasn’t good enough, and I needed to get an MRI. I got that last week. [On Tuesday] they told me I needed a different type of MRI, and there isn’t enough time to get all this stuff done. “
Truax said he didn’t suffer a concussion in the Jacobs fight.
The Gopher State will still be represented in Florida, as Jamal James is, like Truax, a Minnesota native. Still, it leaves Truax champing at the bit to get back into the ring after going through the rigors of camp for several weeks.
“I definitely want to get right back to it and get a fight ASAP,” he said.
