The Moment for Shawn Porter came in the fifth round Friday night, when he landed a straight right hand to the body of Erick Bone to score one of his two knockdowns.
Referee Jack Reiss reached the count of eight before Bone rose, but the late replacement for Roberto Garcia did so only to receive more punishment.
Already having blended a mixture of head and body shots behind his jab against the sinewy, 5-foot-10 Bone, Porter then went in for the kill.
The 5-7 Porter resumed his attack, trapping Bone along the ropes once again before delivering the fight-ending sequence: a right to the body followed by a right to the head and a left that caused the bloody-nosed Bone to fall onto his left side.
Bone tried to rise again, but only got to his knees as Reiss reached the count of 10 and waved an end to the fight at the 2:30 mark of the fifth round.
